February 5, 2010

I had the pleasure of shooting with this one of kind band a few weeks ago. I had alot of fun hanging out with the band and getting to know a bit about them. I really wish I would have taken my video camera, hopefully there is more shoots to come with Bacchanalian Bliss or maybe even a music video.

ABOUT BACCHANALIAN BLISS:
Bacchanalian Bliss was formed in December 2007. This band consists of 6 males and 1 female who assembled together in hopes of fighting off the evils of today’s times as the modern version Power Rangers, but in all sadness our hopes seemed unpromising, so we turned to the world of music. Having so many people in this band brings so many different personalities, and influences. With this chaotic mix, many have said this band wouldn’t come together and do anything productive. But we have proven them wrong. Not only do our personalities and influences blend well together, but with only one year under our belt, we’ve accomplished so many things. Though we may have our ups, we also have our downs, but somehow we manage and push through them. We invite you into our world that we have tried so hard to save. So listen with your ears, see with your eyes, and feel with your heart. The salvation is about to start. We are Bacchanalian Bliss. SCHEME – Respect The Art

January 19, 2010

Check out Scheme’s second music video filmed in Chicago, Illinios.

Directed by Virgil Solis
Edited by Tony Shane

Respect the Art (produced by 21 Grams) – off of The Manifesto EP.

For the “Respect the Art” video Scheme brought it back home to Chicago. Scheme’s first video “Chicano” represented his home away from home (filmed in laredo and Nuevo Laredo, Mexico), this one here represents where he was born and raised. Mostly shot in the neighborhood Scheme grew up in, the video is filled with nostalgic images, familiar faces, and iconic Chicago sites.

Scheme’s purpose for both song and video was to express that “no matter how you choose to portray your craft, all I ask is that you respect the art.”

Hope you enjoy it.

The very first music video we shot in 2009 will air on MTV Jams starting Nov. 27th.

Hopefully Laredoans can tune in and check out their own backyard on MTV.  The music video was shot entirely in Laredo, TX.  Some parts were also shot in Nuevo Laredo, Tamps.

Last week the History channel aired a show detailing the drug wars in Laredo.  It made the city look a lot worse than it really is.  This music video shines another light on Laredo by unveiling its colors, culture and authenticity.

I got the call from Scheme, from Chicago, telling me about how he had been contacted by MTV.  The video has been chosen to air on the show on the 27th and hopefully it will keep airing for a while.

I will have to do some very small changes to the video to format it for tv use.  For those of you who haven’t seen the video, the video is posted below.
